Crete Senese Country
The “Crete” are very clay and brittle lands and therefore subjected to the phenomenon of erosion. Wind and rain, men and flocks, over the centuries have drawn a landscape that has the shape of the sensations and communicates with the strength of emotions. Besides the freeway Siena - Bettolle the perfect clay hills turn into the green area of Chianti rich in vineyards but also untouched corners where you travel in harmony with nature.
Siena is a few miles from Crete. Among the waves of this sea of earth, castles and fortresses rise but the most common walls are those of farms, simple construction from the strong “shoulders”, evidence of an important rural culture. Life was lived in and around the farm.
